Good App but...

I am having an issue with expanding video in the app. When I press on the button to maximize the video, the video disappears but i can still hear the audio. I am running the new El Capitan OS so hopefully there is an update soon to fix this...

Bad Update

I use this app as my main way of viewing Facebook. After updating this morning I am unable to launch the app without the spinning beachball of death. I have to force quit the app to be able to use my machine again. Will update review when I am able to use the app again.

This update has gone wonky

After the update, if I scroll up on my feed, the blue bar at the top jiggles up and down. Not really sure how else to describe it. I’m on a brand new 15” rMBP.

Memory Issues

After beeing launched for a few hours and going out of it a few times the app uses almost a gigabyte of memory. It does not do that much that the memory usage should jump up this high after a few hours.

Great App

It’s a great App, I use it every day but it need an update, the current version isn’t working too well. Can’t change the Notification sound, some things dont work when you open it you have to reopen the window for to work and its kind of annoying.

noice

mmm put it in your mouth and taste it… thats noice

Great App - but crashes all the time.

I really want to give this app 5 stars - but it crashes sooooooo much. I’d say about 10+ times a day. There has never been a stable version.

Not real thrilled

Something has changed the way I can save a picture to iPhoto from Facebook. Have to take several steps to save picture now. Before I could click and drag item to iPhoto. I guess I’m one of those old dogs that doesn’t like to learn new tricks. Guess I’ll adjust. Maybe it isn’t your fault, could be the OS X EL Captian.

needs an update

I love this app, but the current version is not working with the lastest iOS. Everything was working fine before I upgraded to the new operating system. There’s a bit a lag time whenever I try to execute an operation. That definitely was not happening before.

Language

Suddenly Facebook is appearing in a font I cannot read which makes the app useless to me. This just started last night which I assume was an update. Up until then it worked pretty well.

Full screen video look out

It works great, but don’t click on the full screen video option during video playback (if it is offered), the whole thing disappears…I mean everything but the video continues in some background that I can’t find…Otherwise, and this is a big otherwise, good app.

Best Facebook app for OSX

I tried all famous Facebook apps in mac app store. This one is so great, the best Facebook app in Mac App Store so far. Much better than all those paid apps. Tried it side by side with current. This is 10 times better and much more practical. If you looking for Facebook app just get this and don’t waste your time and money. This is the best!

Just as good as the browser version

I have 2 Fb accounts and it’s a hasel having to log out one account to be able to log into the other. With Go for Facebook I can now have one account in GfFb and the other in the web version. Nice! All it needs now is the ability to use gestures, namely swipe left or right to navigate.

Too buggy for normal use

In addition to the fullscreen video bug, another frustrating aspect is the notifications (the globe tab up top). When clicked on, it hangs forever, and pretty much completely freezes. It’s gotten to the point where it is completely unusable for this function. Browsing is still okay though, but loading comments sometimes also takes a long time.

Great little app!

it’s a great way to keep Facebook available but not in your face. The menubar icon is near perfect!

good

It works pretty good but it could use some tweaks and slight visual improvements.

Kludgy

Click on an icon? Nothing happens. Scrolls very slowly. A waste. Back to Safari.

Good, But Could Be Better

If you don’t use the Notifications list in Facebook, I expect you’d enjoy this app a great deal - It makes Facebook accessible in the menu bar, which is a tremendous convenience, and makes it trivial to hide the window quickly, which is useful at work. The most notable issue is that I’m frequently using the "Reset App Window” function, which is accessible from the menu bar icon, to solve a problem such as ’stuck’ scrolling or the keyboard not working. That (almost) always solves whatever problem I’m having, but it’s mildly irritating to have to do it at all, never mind two or three times over the course of a day. If you do use the Notifications list, you’ll likely get irritated by the fact that it loses track of where you are in the list, and returns you to the top of the list every time you click on a list item. Aside from being annoying, this can actually have a financial impact if you have bandwidge caps from your ISP (it appears to download the older notifications each time I scroll through them, rather than caching them in memory.) I’d love to give this app five stars if they solve these problems, as it does have a lot of functional advantages.

Still locks up

Once I close the laptop, leaving Facebook open, the app locks up, same as when I use Safari. I use OS X Yosemite 10.10.5. Just need to refresh it.

Convenient

Its very convenient to be able to keep Facebook as a desktop app thats separate from my web browser. I access it via a keyboard shortcut, so I spend less time fiddling with browser tabs to get to it. And it also acts as a messaging app, so I can leave it running in the back and quickly toggle back and forth between FB and other things. There is much less friction with this app.
