Go for Facebook - Unofficial App Reviews

This is an easy and quick way to access FB from your laptop icons. If you like fast then this is for you.

This is a great shortcut to Facebook but there are far too many times when I have to right-click and open Facebook in a browser to do what I want to do (e.g. search for text on a page). It’s only convenient when I don’t have to constantly open Safari during my browsing session.

I’m with the not having to have Safari open. This is very convenient.

Working great compare to the last time used. Only problem seen so far is when i play a video from youtube it appeard a message “Blocked Plug-in”. Then Problem seeing videos they just load for ever. Then if I hit Refresh button for example in a video you lose the ability to get Back I’m forced to hit the Home Button

Do not try to post a message, watch a video, or reply to a comment that could take longer than a minute, because the app automatically refreshes itself without warning. This can cause lost posts, videos to replay, and anything moderately productive to be lost. Everything else works without incident, but as it stands, actually interacting with it as you would expecy is impossible.

My employer uses Gmail and doesn’t allow IMAP or POP access, so I started using Go for Gmail. I really liked it, so when I saw there was a Go for Facebook, I grabbed it. I like it much better than MenuTab for Facebook. It gives you a fully functional desktop version of Facebook. There’s an icon on the dock that tells you how many notifications you have. Yes, there’s a pop-up asking you to try their other products every time you upgrade, (so does Go for Gmail,) but that doesn’t happen very often.

I have been using this app for over a year now. I simply love it. Keep up the good work guys!

The icon is on my MacPro dock, so it’s as easy to open Facebook here as it is on my iPad. Love having a one-click way of getting there. I was talking with Tech Support about another issue, asked her about a one-click option for Facebook, and she set me up right away. I’m not sure I would have figured that out myself, so I’m very glad she knew about it and helped me. So far it is working well.

I have been using Facebook Menu Tab for awhile - maybe a year or two - and I was hesitent to try this one. This is more complete - it looks more like my feed in a browser, and as far as I can tell, seems just as small and unobtrusive CPU-wise. I hae not actually looked at how much processing it takes, but so far, doing large files in Photoshop, renders in Poser, and other CPU intensive tasks, this has no effect on them. To me, that is GOLD. It rides in my top bar and can be set to only color notification, or growl, or whatever - so many more options than even the ‘Pro’ version of the other one. This has now become my default monitor for Facebook. Thanks for a great App!

I got my first iMac December 2014 and have been looking for an fb app for my mac ever since. I am glad this showed up in the app store. It works great and now I don’t have to use Safai any more thanks! I can use this app for my fb page and then my husband can stay loged in on his fb page on Safari.

This app has a single purpose; to let you access Facebook quickly and easily, and it does exactly that. Click the icon in the Main Menu bar and Facebook appears. Click it again and Facebook is gone. Post your status, check on your friends, add Likes and Comments, do whatever you would normally do on Facebook. You can even dspense with the ads. This means I won’t ever be reminded that attractive young women are trying to reach me, but I can live with that.

I want to like it, but... until clicking on a "view" notification takes you to the post, its useles. I love the interface I love the options, and even the notifications are nice, but if clicking on view only opens the program, it is worthless when you get hundreds of notifications a day. I hope they can fix that, I submitted a bug report but never heard from anyone.

for some reason it will NOT play any videos. If I log on through the Internet they will play fine, but there is a bug in the app.

Allows you to edit your postings and reply. High resolution graphics. Drop down app and closing with mouse going off the app. Very useful to switch quickly out of program.

This app works really smooth. One click and Im on.

Easy 2 use… in short its so cool app :)

Like the app, it allows you to check on your FB just like if your on your browser. The one thing that is a deal breaker for me is when you click on a story and then go back to the app, you lose where you were and get taken back to the top of the news feed. I spend most of my time on FB reading the articles or links…..

love it. better than the browser version.
